What software do photographers use to easily add a background to a photo?

I was wanted to mainly know what the software is, that they use for when they are doing school photos. What software do photographers use to easily add a background to a photo?
Usually school photographers use their on background theme that the school approves of. I'm not sure where they get them from, but as a personal photographer, Adobe %26amp; Kodak are great to use. I believe this is where they might get them from. Hope this helps in some way. What software do photographers use to easily add a background to a photo?
Adobe Photoshop it the best software for doing what you want, but there are others that are cheaper but I personally think Adobe is the best. What software do photographers use to easily add a background to a photo?
For school photos?

They might have their own softwarre,

but most if not all pro photogs use Adobe Photoshop.
School photos...do you mean the kind that you stand/sit when at school and a photographer shoots the photo?

Well, they use a backdrop. It's not software, they actually use a background. The parents pick the package they want (including the backdrop they want behind their child), the photographer chooses that backdrop, student sits in front and photographer takes the picture.

School photographers are companys like Lifetouch, who rather spend the money on a backdrop (which is easier), then editing a Photoshop background.
