I recently received my tax preparation certification and I was wondering is there any software in particular that would be a good ideal to do other's taxes. In the past for friends and family, I used the software on the net. Just wondering if there is any recommendations for tax professionals.
Thanks for your time! What is the best software to do others taxes?
Good professional software will minimize time spent keying in returns, allow you to use bank products, track returns so you know where they are at in the filing process to allow you more time to counsel your clients.
After evaluating many software packages I decided on Taxwise from Universal Tax Systems www.taxwise.com They have great support and are geared to the small preparer, they have many packages to choose from including pay per return for people just starting out and if you need to do just on or two corporate or non profit returns. All in all I thought they were the best bang for the buck.
quicken tax is pretty good, so is tax proWhat is the best software to do others taxes?
Tax Cut! its the only way to go. Especially for small businesses and entrepreneurs. Unless of course you have a CPA or tax specialist do the filing for you.
We use Drake software, its in-expensive for what it gives you, and their support lines are great if you have any questions. What is the best software to do others taxes?
I have used TaxWise for several years, and it's a very good product. You do have to know where to put what numbers, it doesn't guide you like some of the popular software for individuals although there are some pretty good help screens. It seems to do a good job and is easy to use. Updates are downloaded from their website as they are put out. I only had to call their support line once, when there was a problem with an efile batch, but they were very helpful and fixed my problem and talked me through what I had to do.
Most of the popular software you buy at Best Buy or someplace like that have licensing restrictions that don't allow using them for someone preparing several returns for pay.
My mother has been doing taxes for 20 years and she always uses Pro Series. It's expensive but very good.
If you are planning on doing this as a side business, then one of the software programs mentioned above is probably a good idea. If you plan of continuing to just do a few people's, I can't justify spending over $1,000 to do 10 other tax returns. I use TaxACT.com ever since H%26amp;R Block made me mad....And I do several others on there- then they can still log on and access all their info as if they did it themselves.
I do the IT work for a tax office, and they are very happy with ATX. It is not interview style but rather form based. The pricing is very reasonable.
FYI, while H%26amp;R Block uses proprietary software for preparing personal returns, they use ATX's for corporate, partnership, and estate returns.
