What is the best software to use to create video games?

Me and a few friends want to try our hand in creating 3D games, for either the PC or/and other game systems. We have looked all over the net for software and books to help but there are so many different kinds that we don't know what to get. Software programs are expensive so we want to make sure. So far we like DAZ Studio and XNA but don't know for sure if they are what we need.What is the best software to use to create video games?

there are a lot of different software you can use to make a video game the top hitters are 3ds max and maya made by autodesk you can download the trails are www.autodesk.com there is no help file or or tutorials because people have been downloading them illegals from torrents. the programs are $3500 each.



if you choose one of these then i would just mess around with the demo version there are also a lot of tuts free online.



You cannot learn how to make a video game in 5 minutes it will take you months days and even years to make you cannot just use one piece of software like maya and max you would need a lot of other software from combustion to affect effects.



A one man band cannot make a VG you need programmers, artists, Special fx texturing etc,



yes there are a lot of books on the market they are not all design for different programs, you need to choose the program(s) you want to use.What is the best software to use to create video games?

Im doing the same thing in XNA but its not easy. Ill list free software.
