What software would be best for recording a homemade rap cd?

My friend and I are planning on recording a homemade rap album on cd to sell to our friends. I plan to record it in my living room using a computer microphone. The only thing that is holing us back is the recording software. Can anyone recomend what the SIMPLEST, best quality, affordable hip hop recording software is? I have considered and am still considering fruity loops, sonic producer, and cakewalk. What software would be best for recording a homemade rap cd?

I would say that your best bet is going to be Audacity. It's FREE, it's powerful, and there are a bunch of people that use it and create great music.

Another option is that, if and when you decide to upgrade from a USB microphone, almost all digital audio interfaces come with lite versions of major recording software. There are all fully capable of recording rap tracks.

There are a few answers up here on the exact same subject: http://recordingquestions.com/question/o鈥?/a>What software would be best for recording a homemade rap cd?
Fl Studio is great for doing beats. The Producer Edition and XXL versions also have audio recording but to get the best result you will also need a good soundcard (ASIO support, or least use ASIO4ALL).

I don't find it complicated but you should try the demo to see how you like it of course: http://demo.flstudio.com

Also, get some good samples for your beats:

In case you end up getting FL Studio, here's my promo link for 10% discount on the entire first order at the image-line online shop: https://support.image-line.com/jshop/sho鈥?/a>

Good luck!
