I used to use Malwarebytes and Microsoft Security Essentials, but I recently got the blue screen of death and had to completely reinstall Windows 7.
Are the two programs I had before still the best? Or would AVG be better? Or maybe another program?
Thanks. What is the best free anti-malware/virus software for Windows 7?
Avg is pretty good and antimalware bytes is great for malware. Super anti spyware is also a good free program to help remove a lot of those unwanted tracking cookies.
down load again microsoft security essentials, read the information about it than install it.it is free.do not need the other anti malware virus with microsoft security essentials.go to internet options ,in were it saids general ,than it saids delete cookies, etc dclick delete than click delete cookeies, and history not browser history good luckWhat is the best free anti-malware/virus software for Windows 7?
Malwarebytes is a good Malware scanner, but not an active anti-virus program. You need AVG or Avast as an active free anti-virus program. Active means, it is always there monitoring incoming and outgoing files and emails. Also use Malwarebytes maybe once a week. I have used Avast for many years and find it very good.
all free av are same not much different among them you, find free av here
http://download.cnet.com/windows/antivir鈥?/a>
but free av only provide basic protection and your pc can get infected by rouge virus anytime
i'll advise you to buy Eset to get full protection. What is the best free anti-malware/virus software for Windows 7?
I highly recommend Microsoft Security Essentials.
No, it wasn't MSE's fault that your computer had blue screens.
